Setting up Cut & Pack

From installing the plugin to your first made-to-measure product, in about five minutes.

Before you start

  • WordPress 6.9 or newer, with WooCommerce 10.0 or newer

  2. Search for Cut & Pack.
  3. Click Install Now, then Activate.

  3. Set Mode to Sold in packs and Sold by to Area (m²).
  4. Choose what customers enter: the Total area, or Length × width.
  5. Enter the Coverage per pack, the area one box covers, for example 1.44.
  6. Optionally, set a Minimum and Maximum area, and your own Label text.
  7. Click Update and view the product in your shop.

If you track stock, enter it in boxes on the Inventory tab.

Set up a product cut to size

Common questions

How is the price of a box worked out?

Coverage per box × price per m², rounded to whole pennies. For example, 1.44 m² × £39.90 = £57.46 per box. The total is the number of boxes × £57.46, so the numbers always add up.

Can customers change the number of boxes in the cart?

Yes. The area shown in the cart updates to match.

The calculator was switched off when I saved. Why?

A setting it needs is missing: usually the Coverage per pack or the Regular price, or the minimum is larger than the maximum. The message at the top of the screen says which.

Does it work with the block checkout?

Yes, with both the block-based cart and checkout and the classic ones.

What happens to my settings if I delete the plugin?

They are kept, unless you tick Remove data on uninstall under WooCommerce → Settings → Products. Sizes stored on past orders are always kept.
